Portland, Oregon · Commercial Signage
A bold exterior identity, delivered with a tight turnaround.
The Project
Cartside PDX and The Garden Tavern needed exterior signage that would give the venue a clear, distinctive presence. The project was completed with a tight turnaround, bringing a prominent illuminated sign to the building’s brick facade.
The finished sign pairs bold red illuminated “THE GARDEN” lettering with white “TAVERN” lettering below. Alongside the existing Cartside sign, it creates a recognizable identity for the space.
The Approach
Large lettering gives The Garden Tavern a prominent position on the facade, with a clear hierarchy between the venue name and supporting lettering. The sign also adds visibility from the Moda Center and I-5, extending the venue’s presence beyond the immediate streetscape.
Our installation team used a full-size wall template for correct placement of the sign components across the 22' brick wall ensuring accuracy and client satisfaction.
Red and white illumination defines the finished lettering against the dark facade, creating a strong visual presence after dusk.
A tight turnaround brought the work from the unsigned wall to the completed exterior signage on a compressed project schedule.

The Finished Signage
The completed sign gives The Garden Tavern a distinct exterior identity at Cartside PDX. The twilight and street-level views show how the illuminated lettering anchors the facade and identifies the venue from different approaches.
